cat=c damaged
i am going to buy a car tomorrow but have just done an hpi on it. it says was extensively damaged cat=c and insurers decided not to repair it and have no record of a vic inspection, what does this all mean???? the bumper is slightly cracked and theres a dent this is to the rear end. and will this effect my insurance?

Technically, you don't have to get the car VIC'd to put it back on the road, BUT the DVLA will not issue a new V5 until you get it VIC checked.
No it won't affect your insurance, but if you do have a claim with this vehicle, they will note that the car was previously written off. Please keep all repair documentation as they'll likely ask for this, and you should expect to get a settlement that is below retail to reflect the vehicle history
