Aaarrrggghhhh - help!!

I can't take anymore. I have been in my new flat for 4 months and thought I had seen every insect under the sun (2 kindly identified for me last week.). I thought that that was the end but no, my torment continues. This morning the insect of all insects appeared outside the bedroom door. I think it maybe a cockroach but I'm really hoping not.
It was 2 inches in length (no exageration) and had a black body that was ribbed all the down. It had 6 red legs and 4 very long antennae. My hubby managed to catch it and throw it out the kitchen window (We are 3 floors up). Does anyone have any idea what it could be?? I'm scared of anything with more than 4 legs, but this was a monster!!!! Even my cat just stared at it!!

Have you contacted your local pest controller, you can buy a stick trap to collect any insects and they will be able to confirm their origin?

I'm sorry but I would have to move if I lived in your flat, what with the carpet beetles and everything else you've found! Btw, I'm not an expert on bugs or anything, just good at finding nasty pictures on google!!

The picture seemed lifesize.
I didn't think Spain (where I live) had this sort of thing. In our other flat that we lived in for 8 years, the only prob we had was ants.
Here in 4 months I've seen the lot. No more please.
Any idea how to get rid, bare in mind I have a very nosy mogs.
We have only seen one though. Is that a good sign?

I lived in Spain for a couple of years, some while back, and can tell you that what you're experiencing isn't unusual. It would be a good idea to have a word with your neighbours, because cockroaches are gregarious and where there's one, there should be lots more. There are some flying insects, which are a bit of a problem in summer, because they seem to hide in the shutters and freak you out when you close them, at night. They are very similar to what you've described, but are along the lines of the British June Bug, that cling to the carpet, if you're not quick enough, when picking them up.
On the whole, though, I agree with Cheeky Chops, about moving. It looks like your best option.
