uni with these grades?

Can i go to university with my grades i achieved at GCSE Level?I was predicted 9 c's but only got 2 c's 2 d's, 3e's, 1f, 1g surely this isnt good enough to go to university, I got 2 C's in english and ICT. It has always been on my mind going to uni because i would like to prove everyone wrong . Can i go to uni with these grades and at college im taking GCSE Maths and ICT. Any posts would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure GCSE's are not high enough qualifications to get into universities. Your current GCSE's will take you to a 6th form collage, where you would have to study at the next higher level (probably A Level). This level of qualification would then allow you to apply to university courses. Though, university courses aren't the only, and sometimes are not the best options. There are many other levels of qualification that may turn out to be a lot more useful to your situation.

Your GCSE'S are not what matter when you apply for uni, it is what you achieve at college that matters. Depending on what you want to study at uni and which uni you are interested in, you will find out what grades they are looking for you to achieve and also at what level eg- A level, BTEC etc

Most Uni's I looked at asked for a C or above at GCSE English, and alot do ask for GCSE grades, although the offers are not made on these. You'll need A levels or equivalent (Key Stage 5) to get into Uni though, you can't go from GCSE to degree. If you're only wanting to go to Uni to prove everyone else wrong, to me it doesn't seem worth the effort.

I can confirm all this, GCSEs are used to determine if you should do A levels and A levels if you should go to uni. You certainly cant go to uni. You may be able to get into the lowest grade uni.s which are really polytecnics in disguise with 2 poor a-levels if you take them.

What worries me is how your predicted grades could be so inaccurate! If your teachers believe that you will cope with A Levels, then that is what will get you into Uni. I only got 6 GCSEs, but at A Level I got AACD and eventually a 1st class degree!! I believe this is because I was having to take subjects at GCSE like French and maths that I was never going to be any good at! If you take English and ICT A levels, you may be okay. Btecs also will allow you to study what you are interested in without necessarily having star GCSE grades. If you manage to get a couple of A Levels,or a BTEC, you can go to University. But ask yourself, did you do your absolute best at GCSE, or could you actually have worked much harder? If the former, you may just find A Levels too difficult.
