My B2 visa has expired, I am hoping to visit the States for a two week holiday. Am I able to do this under the visa waiver scheme even though I previously had a B2 visa or do i need to renew the visa?

Many thanks in advance

I can find nothing on the relevant page of the US embassy website which states that you can't (subject to meeting the qualifying conditions) travel under the Visa Waiver Program. Since it states that people who've been refused a visa aren't barred from the VWP, it would seem to be illogical to refuse people who've been granted one:

To be certain that you meet the requirements, work through the VWP wizard, here:

It's interesting that they have created this wizard re: the Waiver Scheme.

Strange though that it concludes anyone with other than the most minor driving violations (that could be dealt with by post) are not eligible!

p.s. The confusion continues.
