Is it a TV, a PC, a laptop, your car, your toaster, your fridge ?

Give us a bit of information and we may be able to help.

it's my friend's PC - my toaster doesn't have an F10 button VHG , come to think of it neither does my fridge !
Hey dumm ... you sound so smart .... sort it yourself !
I don't know how you are going to read this if your screen stays blank, but I found this on yahoo answers

Its telling you that your screen resolution and screen refresh rate aren't set properly for the app you are trying to run. Right click on your desktop and open properties, settings, and slide the slider up to 1024 by 768, click apply. I would imagine your refresh rate is set properly. If not, depending on your video card, there should be an option somewhere to change this.

ACtheTroll, if I was so smart I wouldn't be asking for help . My post was genuine, the screen, F10 key, message etc......did it really sound like a toaster ?? No - and I've been on the receiving end of VHG's sarcasm before !
I was trying to help out my friend - forget it.

Thank you 08012006 just been on the phone to talk her through but she's worse on the computer than I am ! thanks for your help anyway. Judy.
dumm

actually ... vhg is possibly just being exasperated

your description didn't include if PC/Laptop (f10 can have alternative uses on a laptop)
which operating system again f10)
what type/brand of monitor for error message

I agree you're not very smart
perhaps when asking for help you should consider being a little less volatile ... that way you might get more co-operation - if you were paying you could possibly get away with that 'tude.... you're not ... so you won't
whatever

My description didn't include a 'waffle button' or a 'quick freeze' button either.
What's wrong with asking is it a PC or a Laptop ?
You related ?
no - not related
just don't appreciate smartmouths

you want help ... you ask ...
no shame in not knowing ....
quite admirable you want to help a friend

But only a fool then starts arguing the toss because they don't like the sound of the offer.

you on the other hand do seem to have a waffle option
I just hope you can find your mute button

I'm now going to use my freeze button
goodbye!
