PAPERCHASE DISTURBING FILM

I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS FILM MANY YEARS AGO, IT HAD SEVERAL CHILDREN TAKING PART IN A PAPERCHASE, THIS TOOK THEM INTO A RAILWAY TUNNEL,THIS HAD AN HORRIFIC EFFECT ON THE RACE, WAS IT A RAILWAYS SAFETY PROGRAM BECAUSE IT HAD A LASTING LESSON TO ME? I NEVER SAW IT AGAIN.

I think you my be refering to the railway children - I saw it recently and this scene stuck in my mind too !

Are you thinking of 'The railway children' ?. This features a paperchase which goes into a railway tunnel. From what I remember, a kid gets stuck in there, and things don't look good for a while, but the 3 railway children manage to flag down the approaching train and save the day. So it does have a happy outcome.

The Railway Children count how many boys enter the tunnel and then themselves run to the otherside of the tunnel and re-count them leaving the tunnel. One boy in a red top is missing so they enter the tunnel to see what happened to him. He had fallen over and broken his leg. They manage to get him out of the tunnel and take him home where their mother looks after him. The part where the Railway Children flag the train down is actually when there is a landslide onto the track and not about the paper chase.
