Just lately I am losing the plot. Ok yes I had lost it a bit anyway but just lately I'm doing very silly things. Went into shop bought my grocerys and then nearly walked out without them until the assistant said about them. Then 2 days later I did actually walk out of shop without my purchase!! Then other day I went to pick my mate up from her mums, didn't know where exactly she lived so parked up outside what I thought was hers and rang her, she came out and I could see her in my rear view mirror waving so I said I'd reverse and come up. So I did just that only to sit there for 5 mins thinking she'd gone back in house when all along she's waving at me over the wall from next door. Woops. Anybody else get days like this?

She was still there and looked at me like I was a dizzy bird, (It was 20 years ago so u can't blame my age for that!)
This bloke I know quite well and havent seen for ages came up to me in pub other night and said that we should catch up and asked me to take his number. Got my phone out ready to put his number in and totally forgot his name. I stood for ages looking at my phone until he said oh just put me under ???.

Days? I get months like this it feels. Going upstairs to arrive and wonder what I'm doing there, going into kitchen, coming back empty handed then tummy rumbling to remind me what an air head I am. More recently, just losing the thread of conversation completely after 5 mins. I have the attention span of .... ooh look Mr Tumble...

A few years ago I was teaching a class and was distracted by announcements, knocks on door and a few students acting up. When everything settled down i turned to the class and said, "open your....." I could not get the word BOOK to come out. I just said ,"You know the thing you read from." We laughed about that the rest of the term. I just stood ther like an idiot. It makes me laugh now thinking about it.
At my mother's funeral, I must admit I was quite upset, I met up with a guy who I'd had a huge crush on as a kid, he was absolutely drop dead gorgeous. I stumbled out hello and turned to my husband to introduce him but couldn't remember who he was or his name (my husband that is) Worse than that I could remember the name of the stunner.
That took some explaining.

Really annoys me that forgetting what you're doing thing! Especially when you're in a rush to do whatever it was that you've forgotten and you suddenly realise you can't remember what it is but you know it must have been important otherwise you wouldn't have broken into anything quicker than an amble for it!
I am always forgetting words that are really so simple. Someone of a similar age to me (50s) recently commented that had I noticed at our age it takes 4 people to make a sentence. Like Pippa68 I was looking for something i already had. It was my artificial arm (honestly)to put on before I went out. Searched the house high and low and then realised I was already wearing it!!!!!
After the birth of my first son, I was at the hospital and in the shower, I knew something wasn't quite right....aha... I still had my glasses on, took of my glasses and still standing there, water pouring down, thinking, nope...there is still something not right...looked down, still got my slippers on - what do you do in hospital with a pair of soaking wet suede slippers?????
hi all.
the other day i went to my fave hairdressers, quite exited about getting my hair cut, but i felt really anxious, thinking it was because i had baby gaga with me and i didn't know how long she'd sit in her pram for. but when i got there and the hairdresser's chopping away, i was trying to chat with her and couldn't get the words out. i felt nervous for no reason, so im muttering away hoping im making sense. baby was fine. im a gibbering fool. after i got more anxious as id thought id forgotton to tip the girl who'd cut my hair. and felt bad about it all day.
now thinking back, im wondering how id managed to get myself into such a state over a trip to the hairdressers.
oh dear!!
