Build a model car engine

Does anyone know where i can get a clear plastic car engine that i can put together and then start it up so can see how it works?

Have a look at the 'hemi-visible' engines here. Not cheap, maybe, but they're quite large and pretty exact models, and the transparent parts allow you to see how everything works internally. I'd think you'd need some experience in building model kits, as they could be quite complex to assemble.
