can any 1 tell me some websites where i can download music for free...i know all my mates do it but everywhere i try there seems to be some kind monthly/annual payment option ???

Well I have tried just about every "legal" free music download website which I find to be only useful for chart music and most are riddled with pop up's (I hate smiley's) and spyware. I keep going back to the "illegal" website emule (file sharing) I know I will get slated on here by all the law abiding downloaders for using emule and I nearly always scan each file for a virus before I open it (never had one yet) but it has much more music and video's from the 60's onward to choose from.

I don't have Sky so I can download MTV video's, Glastonbury, Reading, European and American festivals old and new.

I was a teenager in the 70's/80's and I have watched more live video's of bands like Deep Purple, The Sweet even the Bay City Rollers than I ever saw on TOTP or Lift Off when I was buying their records.

All you have to do is share what you download into your incoming.

One word of warning users on emule can change the file names so you can sometimes download for eg. Lazy by Deep Purple video and end up with a pornographic video but if that happen's just change the name back and delete the video (unless it's a good one of course)

ARES! It is so great! The songs are free and it is much quicker that kazaa, and I've even got dial up!!

That's a good shout 10ClarionSt. I had the same problem. It cost me �40 to get my computer sorted out plus what I paid to register with them.

ARES is not free. you have to pay a monthly membership fee (�1) to be connected to P2P sites. One of the sites they connect you to, and advertise on their site is emule and you can download that yourself from www.emule.com for nothing.

i've recently had limewire on my computer + as someone else mentioned about 'kazza' this kept closing + opening on it's own, it had a virus in it, making it do this!

i've just searched for anotjer similar programme + found 2:

1) Zultrax + 2) media catalogue studio lite 4.6

Kazaa is rubbish and riddled with viruses! Limewire serverly slowed my computer down the best vote is BEARSHARE PRO which can be found at www.bearshare.com Bearshare provides much more search results and much quicker downloads than the other 2! Also the PRO version you will have to subscirbe to, unless you download the program CRACK from www.crackspider.net which is what id id and enjoy all the PRO features for nothing! Alternatively you could just download the standard Bearshare from the site which is still better than the other 2 anyway!
