I recently had a HUGE clodsore that totally covered the upper lip and the skin right up to my nose.
Somone just mentioned I could have received stronger treatment from the doctor. I thought the best thing for coldsores was the zorirack. Please can anyone tell me what treatment the doctor could offer so i can go and ask for this.

You may have been given anti biotics in cream form but as the zovirax seems to have worked, all is ok. I find that zovirax doesnt work for me along with many other types of cream. TCP stings like mad but does the trick and quickly. If you get another one so big, go to your docs, or even try your chemist for advise, as it may be impatigo (sp?).

Sometimes coldsores become infected badly and may need antibiotics. It happened to my daughter a couple of months ago, Her lip was swollen and sore.
