In August I grew several trays of winter pansies from seed. They have just grown and grown but we do not want to put them out yet as the bedding plants are still looking wonderful and then my husband wants to put fertiliser on the soil before planting the pansies.
Is it ok to leave the pansies in the seed trays or will it harm them ?

they will need pricking out and potting on either into cell trays or small pots. If left they will become over-crowded, stretched and at risk of disease. By doing this they will be much stronger plants and can be planted out when the are a bit bigger.
