If you have online banking then i've found it goes out within a couple mins. Depends on your bank.

Usually it disappears from your available balance instantly but only shows on your statement after at least 2 working days.

legally it can take 6 years and a day. i sh*t you not. My mrs just had a problem with new look because her card was charged 2 months after she brought some clothes and rang up to complain and they informed her of the lovely fact.
