5 week baby is breast (50%) and bottle fed (50%) bowel movement
8 Answers
My 5 week old baby is breast (50%) and bottle fed (50%). He seems to be in good spirits but hasn't had a bowel movement in over a day and a half.
Is this normal?
In this situation, when should I get worried and seek medical assistance?

Is your baby being fed formula and breast or is the bottle feed expressed milk ? Formula can sometimes constipate if not easily digested , babies of this age usually produce a stool at least once or twice a day. However , do not panic, if babys tummy is not firm and distended and he seems well otherwise then you can give your health visitor a ring as Goodsoulette advised. :-)
Aptamil First is a good choice of formula to use , and it's in conjunction with your breast milk , so baby should be ok on it , and it is whey based so should be tolerated by most babies. Please ring your health visitor with any worries or questions you have though sssharon , that is what they are there for and they will be happy to advise you . :-) x
