Were the Klaxons best choice?

The Klaxons walked away with the Mercury Music Prize, beating entries from Arctic Monkeys, Dizzee Rascal, The View, Maps, Bat for Lashes, Jamie T, The Young Knives, Fionn Regan, Basquiat Strings with Seb Rochford, Amy Winehouse, New Young Pony Club. Were they the best choice to win it? Or should another of the nominees taken the award? Or should another artist have won it who's not in the list?

Not in my opinion.

Out of that lot I prefer Arctic Monkeys but did they not win one last year?

I'd like to have seen The Twang in there. Or Kasabian.

I thought Maps were in with a good shout. It's the most innovative electronic album since Lemon Jelly's Lost Horizons, and Leftfields Leftism that's been nominated

The Mercury has always been known for the often baffling choices made by the judges - M People anyone?

I would have liked Amy Winehouse to win, but I think The Klaxons are a reasonable choice, although for sheer inovation, I would have gone for Maps as well.

I went to see Chas and Dave when I was about 4. I got their autograph and everything. I was a massive fan of 'run rabbit.' :0)

The winehouse only has two decent songs that I can see. The rest I find a bit 'samey' I have to say.

I think Arctic Monkeys or Amy should have got it would prefer Arctics - or the view have all of these albums and klaxons one which i enjoy least of all
