I have cystitis so I got some stuff to dissolve in water for it but it doesn't really specify how much water, just says "a glass of cold water" can anyone tell me how much is the right amount? Just used one sachet and it made the water all warm and tastes disgusting, maybe need more water?
Sorry sophia , I meant to wish you well and say I hope you get over it in a couple of days . Cranberry juice is good to take with cystitis btw , if you like it.:-)
doesnt matter as long as you take whole pack, I usually have a half pint glass of water. I just read your if you could be famous post, so I guess this is your reason for that. Its a nightmare isnt it
thanks for your answers! yeah that was the reason for my answer! plus, up until recently i got recurring thrush which is even worse in some ways, I don't want to go on anti-biotics for this cystitis incase it brings on a bout of thush! well, will hopefully be over soon!
Hi Sophie, I had recurrant cystitis for about 18 months followed by thrush from taking antibiotics, so I started taking cranberry tablets. One a day with a glass of water every day and I have not had either for nearly two years
also, take plenty of water, pints n pints to flush out the bladder. bicarb sometimes works too as its alkaline and cancels the acidity. I take cranberry capsules to keep it at bay as cranberry juice is too rich for me - capsules really work as a prevention.
thankyou very much! especially about the cranberry tablets will definitely give that one a try! and am already in the process of drinking gallons of water!
I use as little water as it takes to dissolve the powder as the taste is so bad that I have to down it in one gulp.lol. It still works.I do try and get the citrus flavoured one as that is slightly better. I also drink plenty of Lemon Barley water as that helps too,I was given that advice by a urologist (bladder doctor).
yeah think im going to have to do that daffy!
kleiber, although that soothes the pain i never found that yoghurt actually cures the symptoms, only the fluconazole tablets I was prescribed by dr actually worked!
well thanks again for all your answers, will hopefully clear up in the next couple of days!
As far as thrush is concerned you can be re-infected by your partner (which I think ads for thrush treatment should mention). My sister had chronic thrush for years only recovering when her husband used condoms - a doctor told her that her husbands heavy drinking (beer and lager) may be to blame because of the yeast content. She divorced her husband and has been fine since!
