firewall!!

right before i start i am as thick as i can be when it comes to computers......... so please speak in english!
bekka gave me an answer the other day regarding a problem with my pc and he/she mentioned it may be a firewall problem?
how do i turn all my firewalls off? i have reduced the one to a low setting in my computer section but it still doesnt fix my problem?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You say turn ALL of my firewalls off...using more than one can cause conflicts/problems...you should use only one.
Usually right click the Firewall icon...bottom left on screen and click exit...what Firewalls are you using?
Using the Windows one alone shouldn't cause any problems but it isn't as strong as Zone Alarm etc.
To turn the Windows one off...Start/Control Panel/Windows Firewall.
Don't forget to TURN THEM BACK ON...also run scans to ensure nothings come down if you were on the net while they were off.

If i could see a log then i may be able to figure it out..
Go here...it's all free help by volunteers...you want the Web and email forum...they're really good...most probably ask you to post a log...they will tell you what to use and how to do it.
