London has apparently become the most expensive city in the world to eat out. In doing so it has gone above Tokyo and Paris to claim this dubious honour. The average cost of a three-course meal for one now costs 40, including one drink, tax and service. Is this too much? Should the Brits demand lower prices? After all, the average price in Paris (2nd in the list) is 35.37.

Prices in London for anything (e.g. taxi fares) are a rip off. However, when I'm in London I eat at Chinese buffets, which are no more expensive than elsewhere in the Uk and are good value.
The meals in London are not usually paid for by Brits but mainly the poor old tourists who dont have much choice.
As a Londoner its a big shame that we will sooner or later shoot the Golden Goose- The Tourist. Because the pound is almost two dollars the Americans think everything is twice as dear as at home. There are cheap places to eat if you can be bothered to Look. Brick Lane for a curry and most have bring your own booze.
Rip-off London. I can't wait to leave! I can eat so well in most other countries for a fraction of the price here!
