1 House or 2...
2 Answers
My friends live in a terrace house. Their house is at the end of the row. The house next door is for sale. If I were to buy that house, but then put a door in the middle of the wall that seperates the two houses, so i could see my friends - legally, does that make it one big house, like in terms of mortage and stuff? or would it still be seen as two seperate homes? just wondering! i might just do it!

There's no good reason to do it. Financially two properties are very likely to be worth more than the single price for one. And you wouldn't necessarily avoid paying council tax on both unless one front door was blocked up.
Dont do it! You'd only have to block it up again, which would presumably mean brickwork, plastering etc etc and a lot of expense, before one of you sold their house. Is it worth it when you can just walk a few paces round the back or front to get to their house?
If you really need to live in effectively the same house as your friends, why not buy somewhere together?
