My printer has stopped working with 'a communication error'. I have tried reinstalling the software and checked the connections. Its two lights are flashing green in some kind of apparent code sequence..five times left then twice on the right, repeating this pattern.

I sometimes get that problem with my Z12. I simply restart the PC and that solves the problems.....until the next time. Will

Thanks Will...wish it was that simple but I've tried switching off and unplugging everything. I'm going to try it on another computer. All the best. Jim.
Hi Jim ... I have a Lexmark Z55 as well and yesterday it stopped working and is flashing the same "code" as you mention ... five times left then twice on the right and I can't get the thing to work at all (rebooting, etc.). Also I open the panel to get to the ink and the cartridges do not slide out to the middle like they normally would and there is some red light (sensor) that is stuck on and won't shut off. My power went out yesterday and I have a feeling this is the cause of the problem (it was attached to a cheap surge protector). I haven't found out the problem yet, but if I do I'll try to report back here - let me know if you figure it out. Jay
I have experienced the exact same problem. I'm currently passing back and forth between Lexmark Tech Support, but there has yet to be an answer given. Hopefully after this next email, I'll have something more definitive to share. Cross your fingers
