Are you trying to split the bill?
Split the 125 into 5 parts of 25 each. One person gets 4 parts (100), the other gets one part (25). What's the problem- too much wine?
100 ?

thanks both of you (hiccup!)

It has been a long time since i did ratios at school but as i remember this is how you work them out

To work out ratios you need to divide the total value (125) by the number in the ratios (5) so it would 125 / 5 = 25

4 x 25 = 100
1 x 25 = 25

so 4:1 = 100:25

Hope this helps!
if the ratio is 4:1 then there are five shares.
each of 25.00
presumably as it is shared to this ratio the bigger (4 parts) share is 100.
