The one I went to had long tables seating about 12 people, so if there's two of you, you end up getting elbowed by the strangers on either side. It was also very busy, there was a queue out the door, and we were basically rushed out once we'd finished eating. It was also very noisy.
Agree with all of hugnie21's comments. In other words not the best place to go if you are looking for a romantic/quiet setting. Have attached (I hope) a link to see the sort of food they serve (slurp).

I hated it. I hated having to share a long table with strangers, it was a loud place. Kinda like sitting in a social club. The food was nothing special either. I suggest you try the simple but effective Pizza Express for a reasonably priced, reliable, and possibly romantic experience (if thats what you want, im just saying).
Try Tampopo instead. Similar menu, nice food, just doesn't feel like a school's dinner hall!

i don't really mind the tables as its designed to be like a cafeteria (although it can be tricky eating noodle soup with a load of kids climbing about at your elbow as they seem to like the benches for that...but that's an issue with parents and the wait staff!)
but i have eaten a couple of times in the one behind selfridges and every single time i can not believe how salty the food is. on occasion the soup has made my tongue burn with that salty feeling. unless you like hot sea water with noodles, try somewhere else!
(if there's any kind of chinatown or japanese place near it'll probably be a LOT cheaper too!)

It's not rubbish as a couple of people have said though I suppose it depends on your own experiences. You can get quite reasonable one-dish meals for under a tenner that are tasty and filling. If you like rice/noodle dishes, it's worth trying, but be warned - as has been said - they don't have conventional tables only long bench-style tables so if there's just one or two of you, you get put on the end of one of these. At less busy times you shouldn't necessarily end up sharing with other parties.
I've enjoyed it in the past but feel like I've "done" Wagamama now. This was underlined by visiting the London South Bank branch and being served warm lager on a day during the hot spell. They seemed perturbed by my mentioning it, and were unable to find a cold one. And whether the meal was coloured by that I don't know, but the noodles I usually enjoy seemed tasteless, production-line-like and tepid. But bear in mind each branch has different management so some will be better than others.
I must admit I get a bit wary of chains because they're uder orders to reproduce everything to match every other chain as far as possible and when food gets forced into those sorts of strictures I think it loses something.

I've eaten at Guildford's Wagamama several times and It was always excellent. On the other hand, it's very difficult to imagine what size the dish will arrive, so it is useful to look at other people's plates before ordering too much (or too little).
