In response to my query the setter has e-mailed me saying that his 9a clue should have read;
Great cold lager's ordered with bitter (5-5).

large-s = lager's
c = cold
ale = bitter
large-scale = great

Thanks Jerry. I knew the answer was Large Scale but the original clue as published omitted the S from lagers and had cold bitter !

I thought I would post the correction so that others would not be confused.
