Apples
9 Answers
Just eating an apple that was grown in a colleagues garden and trying to work out what kind of apple it is. The sunny side is a wonderful redish crimson, moving into pink and yellow on the shaded side and the pips are white. It has a very sweet taste after the initial sharpness. Does any body have any idea what it might be? Additionally, it was picked yesterday and is ripe and grown in Edinburgh though with the climate we've had this year that's probably not going to help classify it!
Thanks.
Thanks.

There are 2500 varities in the UK plus apples can 'interbreed' so you may even be eating a unique fruit...thats how Bramleys came about....
And come along to Edinburgh Farmers' Market on Saturday (Castle Terrace, 9 - 2) - we have a Guinness World Record attempt at making the worlds' biggest bowl of porridge..........and you can get loads of good fresh seasonal stuff too of course....including a nice bag of freshly cooked real potato crisps from The Crisp Hut..
