Nissan micra with engine management light on

My nissan micra drives fine no engine problems i can see or here but the engine management light is staying on how do i turn it off with out paying for a main dealer.

You could in fact be causing huge damage - the only way to know is to get it to a mechanic. It's cheaper in teh long run to deal with it early rather than after you notice driving problems. But you don't need to use a main dealer.
Note on warning lights - they rarely light up for no reason...

The light is there for a reason - get it checked out properly!!
A friend is a mechanic. He has told me a story about a client who's ECU light was irritating her so she stuck a post-it note over it until the next MOT. What would have been a �50 garage charge ended up costing �500 for a new catalyst as the lambda sensor (a �10 part) had failed causing the engine to run rich!
