Does Stronghold fight ear mites aswell as flees? I heard somewhere it was a "2 in1" and if so it would save me buying them seperately

Yes it does:

'Stronghold is available as a spot on preparation which lasts 1 month, and is safe for use in puppies and kittens. This preparation will also kill certain mites that your pets may catch (eg ear mites) as well as round worms. It does not kill tapeworms.'

Word of caution, do not use in conjunction with other worming treatments, as you will overdose.

Yes as Iankeela says Stronghold does the 3 things but just a word of warning, its not so efficient if its a bad flea infestation, for that you can't beat Frontline.
