don't know where to post this. i'm wanting to send a parcel with fragile items in (not heavy). if i mark the box 'this way up' does it go on a different conveyer belt or something? do they take any notice of specially marked parcels? thanks
Of you are sending it by the Royal mail then i don;t suppose they will be able to offer safe delivery actually, but you should send it by DTS/Omega and ask for a special handling service.
No please dont mark it fragile or this way up hotpink as you know they will only kick it to see if it really is fragile and see if it comes from australlia
I have sent many fragile parcels by royal mail. A box inside a bigger box - lots of bubble wrap and padding. And send it Special Delivery - then they have to compensate you for damage, provided you have packaged it properly.
Wise words from ethel there she does not come on B and S to often usually gives advise on the tec side of here but you can usually abide by what she says. Ethel you are the best. and I know you have sent many parcels out from e bay
If you packag eup with lots of Bubble Wrap the item should stay intact..... But if you send it by Royal Mail, The chances of it actually getting there at all aren't great!!!
I once wanted to send something fragile at the post office and asked for the Fragile sticker. The guy on the counter said I had to pay for "fragile service". Have never heard that before and don't know if it's true either.
