there was a kids programme on at least 10 years ago on bbc1 where a bunch of kids from dancing schools across england had to compete in this big game of snakes and ladders i think it was! which was painted on to the floor! cant remember what it was called anyone help?

I think your refering to a very poor show that lasted less than a year hosed by someone called Vince I think. This show was called "You should be so Lucky"
