I know that all parents think their own children are amazing but good grief. I'm afraid to say it but the whole family need to look at themselves and do something about their weight it would do their daughters more good than encouraging them to be a singer when sadly they never will. The mother said she had won trophies for her singing, must have been at the local deaf club.
The problem is - and this is what makes good TV - that families and friends want the contestant to be a good singer, to fulfil their dream, so they tell the contestant that they are.
X Factor iks a reality check for most of these people - and it is sad, but necessary in some cases - like last night.
You are her dad, you love her, and you want her to be happy, so you tell her she can sing. I am Simon Cowel, MD of BMG Records and multi-millionaire - who'se opinion do you think she should be listening to?
It happens over and over again - and that's the apeal of the show.
See the other side - when the judges find someone who has got talent, they are really happy about it - because that is the idea.
I did feel sorry for the young lady - moreso because her parents will keep telling her that SC doesn't know jack, and they will perpetuate her hopeless dream.

It is the producers and the editing that make it good TV and it is the same two culprits that decide to make fools of these people, it is cruel sometimes and I wonder if they can justify how people are portrayed, the show tells it;s own story in a way, we can all spot the nutjobs, someof the reactions from the judges are rude and insulting though and the people involved must watch it and be very upset. Still love it though and will always watch lol
>You are her dad, you love her,
If you really loved her (and the other young girl who I presume is the sister) why do you encourage them to get so fat ?
I think these parents should be charged with cruelty.
People talk about physical cruelty or mental cruelty, but this is almost "over feeding" cruelty.
You could see that the girl who sang could have been very pretty without the 8 stone of fat.
I think this family would make a great subject for a reality TV show over say a one year period.
Get in the "diet doctor" to look at their food buying and eating habits (I bet their house if full of chocolate biscuits, crisps, pizza's etc).
Then get in a "life style" consultant to look at their lifestyle (lack of exercise etc).
Then get in "trinny and suzanna" to look at their clothes, fashion etc.
Then show the girls in a years time when they may have lost 8 stone each, THEN let her re-audition for X Factor.

I think I found the chemist more worrying. Obviously an educated man and you just knew he was going to be shocking.
Personally I think its run its course, no-one from it does any good - Ben Mills and eton Road played at my local chicago's a couple of months ago. I find it hard to get my head round the fact that a prime time programme exists purely for Cowell to line his pockets further.

Rev, I saw the chemist, according to Dermot he came from Leamington Spa where my son lives, which is even more worrying!!! God I hope he doesn't have a prescription that needs attention! Personally I think this particular person had some mental health issues and I really think they need to be careful who they put on TV.
Thankyou for your answers. Andrea , I had no idea they had already been passed through auditions before the tv auditions , how the ....... :-)
Well , that is good to know the chemist is not from my area , phew eyeshade .:-)
Jamesisgod .....you are kidding .....right ? :-)
Yes Cockney , I don't think the girls parents should have told her she could sing , it's them who are equally as deluded . :-)
