can hearsay and rumour about my company be used to sue someone. the rumour i am most bothered about it that one of my employees is a rapist. please help

Suing an individual for slander or libel is a hugely costly business, and totally pointless if he has little or no assets.

Even if you win, it is unlikely you would be awarded costs.

I firmly believe that court action in these circumstances aggravates the situation - carries the matter on far longer than if it is ignored.

Is it affecting your business? Is the situation bad enough to be able to report this person to the police for harassment?
