Does anybody know the piece of music it's been in dozens of horror movies, sort of sounds like opera or chanting, very evil sounding

Could be Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.
That certainly fits your description. It was most famously used in The Omen.
If it is, and you're trying to find it on a disc, the part referred to is 'Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi' (or 'Fortune, Empress of the World'). Virtually, the whole of Carmina Burana has been used in one form or another, particulaarly adverts. Unfortunately, I can now no longer hear one section without thinking about Rover cars, something which is a source of annoyance to me as it devalues the music.

Scott - you might also recognise it from the old 'Old Spice' adverts, if you're old enough.

It wasn't actually used in The Omen, that was a piece of music called Ave Satani, composed Jerry Goldmith, which was heavily influenced by Orff's piece. This is a very common misconception.
