Mooncup

I use a mooncup and its fab - does anyone use one? does anyone think they are yukky? Does anyone know what they are or is it just me? If you don't, google it - and ladies, you should try it - much better for the environment

I am amazed at these replies. PURPOSE In answer to a "long way to go to what?".... being comfortable within our own skins is the answer to that.

As for people finding the idea of emptying them disgusting . Do you find urinating & pooing disgusting? sexual arousal, sex! breast feeding....blowing your nose disgusting? It's all about being human, being alive...non of it is disgusting. Taste explore and know yourselves, you'll all be a lot happier.

Menstruation is all to do with reproduction after all. We've been made to feel it's disgusting by our male dominated society. It's always been a mystery to them, but if it happened to them it'd be thought of as a special thing. We'd think wow, he's using a mooncup. How amazing that they menstruate with the moon's cycle....moving with the universe like the tides, etc. That's what's happening to us and it's wonderful. When you empty it you're just disposing of your own fluids as you do everytime you go to the loo.

Don't you find the idea of pulling a saturated cotton plug out, or replacing a sodden sanitary towel more disgusting? Then what to do with them? I burnt mine in the fire, but if you put them in the bin they go into landfill, if you put them in the toilet they go out to sea. I've seen many washed up on beaches...that IS disgusting.

Everyone should buy a mooncup rather than paying out to the big companies (Tampax etc) AND paying V.A.T to the Government. Stop being disgusted by a perfectly natural process.

I know this question is soooo old. But I have just bought one of these and the only thing that bothers me is the thought of using public loos due to having to wash it out lol. So I thought maybe we could use those feminine hygiene wipes lots of places do these days? anyone doing that already? Think Mooncup should come out with some special "Mooncup wipes"!
