6 Answers
im being swayed towards an xbox 360 as the ps3 seems too pricey for the games that their are, obviously i need a hd tv so my question is what size tv do i need? im not budgeting for a huge 40 inch number im thinking is 22 inch adequate? what screen resolution is minimum to take advantage of the console?

It just makes the picture better.. A normal tv will work fine. the picture will be the same as a ps2. but if you can buy one get one. something slightly bigger than 22 inch would look better bought a new console then bought a plasma tv 37inch with HDTV. games look really good now BUT had to pay extra money to get my sky box hd.. and need to replace my dvd for a hd dvd player. I have now have the best console with the biggest tv and no need to go to the cinema... it is all there in front of you
So go raid your picky bank......

When you say not budgeting, depends what your budget is. I toyed with several options about 10 months ago. I eventually bit the bullet and decided on a Samsung 42" from Play.com. 800 delivered. At the end of the day I guarantee if you go for a 26" or 32" within a week or two you'll be saying "Wish I'd gone for the bigger one........"
Basically, get the biggest you can for your money. You won't regret it.

because i made this mistake a month ago and bought an lcd hd ready jvc 32in,
then the wifes nan bought one of those bush lcd hd ready ones that are on the back of the argos catalogue in a 37in now im gutted cos it was cheaper and better picture by far, they are cracking tv's, i thought that with them being so cheap they would be sh*t, how wrong i was.

It's better to go all out now and buy a bigger one. But the thing is if the room is small, it won't look like for example, I have a ps3 and a 360 and I bought a hd tv a big one, but it didn't look right in the room where my stuff was so I got a smaller one for that room instead. But if the room is big enough may as well take the plunge because as Philtaz says u'll just regret getting the smaller one.
