I agree with the comments about the manual - just looked it up online and it doesn't give much info!
Camera icons are pretty standard regardless of whether they're a phone camera or normal digital camera. I'm taking complete guesses here but if there's something like a flower icon, that would be for macro - or closeup - images whereas a symbol like a landscape is for faaaar away stuff. A face icon might give better skin tones for portraits. A starry night scene would give better low-light pictures but would be more susceptable to camera shake as the shutter is open for longer...
Are those the sort of icons? Or have I guessed totally incorrectly?!!

You are spot on thanks for the info about the Macro, i had no idea what that was for, do you know about ISO i have 100,200,400 and 800 to choose from manually or auto, i know it's something to do with shutter speed but as i have never had a top grade camera or digital camera before i'm unsure what it all means
