if one goes to a pharmacy in the usa,can he buy most medicines without a doctor's presription?

It is the same as in the UK-doctors prescription needed......and they are very expensive!

I went in looking for beconase a couple of weeks back - the nasal spray that you buy off the shelf here - and it needs a prescrition there, so beware
