letting kittens outdoors

I am getting my two ginger toms neutered next week and so they will finally be allowed outside without supervision from me. I am worrying about it and as always want to know how they will get back home and know where home is? My other concern is getting in and out of the garden? This involves either climbing/jumping fences or going on top of the garage to get in and out! Will they do that on their own and know how to get back in?

They`ll be fine.they wont go far at first.As for jumping fences,its what theyre best at.And dont worry,they know where to come back to for food.

They should be fine! Cat's paws leave a scent trail which they use to find their way home, so as long as you let them wander around and don't pick them up in order to take them somewhere in the garden they'll find their way back. Climbing things is second nature to cats, often, if they appear to be stuck, they just aren't ready to come down yet. Initially, they might be rather clumsy or slow to climb/jump etc but this is just their way of building confidence. Give them less or no food for 24hrs before letting them into the garden and let them out about 30 mins before feeding time and noisily get the food ready, They should rush back and you can do the same thing again for the next week or so until you feel they are confident.
