There's a question below asking about smoking, in which an ABer says there's no demand for non-smoking restaurants. Please will everyone give their view on whether they would like a ban on smoking in enclosed public places, particularly in restaurants?

It's a restaurant / pub / bar owner's perogative to create menu, decor ambience etc, and attract (or equally filter out) their customers. If they want smokers in their establishment, then fine (smokers may well be their best customers). Should they want a smoke free environment - then thats fine too.
A blanket ban is crude and unsympathetic to individuals' lifestyle choices. Go to a smoking bar if you don't mind smoke, go to a non-smoking bar if you do.
