Grease drippings between innner & outer oven door

My oven door has an open gap at the top between inner and outer glass layers, into which greasy streaks have slipped down. It looks awful, yet it's more than a one handed job to remove the screwed-in inner glass panel for cleaning.
Can anybody suggest a really effective way of dissolving & cleaning up the grease streaks in-situ. Thanks.

I just cleaned a friend's oven with the very same thing. It was truly a labour of love to do it. I used bicarbonate of soda and Mr Muscle window cleaner. Your oven door sounds similar to my friends. I used a spatula blade with a piece of worn t-shirt material to clean it. In the hardest corners I used a knife blade, again with the t-shirt cloth wrapped around it, both dipped into the bicarb and window cleaner solution. If you don't have window cleaner, you 'can' use white vinegar, but NOT with the bicarb!!! it will fizz up badly! The only other option is to unscrew that glass bit...actually it's not 'that' difficult..just messy and time consuming! Good luck! +Fr. Bill

Thanks. I'll get myself a long thin stick and give it a try with my window cleaner. If we get the glass panel off we'll probably never get the darned thing back on again. We tried this once before and it was a nightmare.
