I have seen the advert for a new pudding at marks and spencer, it is a sponge with a blackberry filling. I'm trying to work out if I can make it myself at home. It has a sponge outside with a compote filling. Any ideas?

Make sponge mix, add half to a pudding bow, making a slight well in the centre. Add berry filling (cherry is also nice). Top with remainder of sponge. I normally cook in microwave. Cover with cling film and cook on high for about 3 minutes.
thats sounds alittle bit like a summer pudding i used to make only i did it by greasing a bowl, lining with bread (crusts cut off) then filling with hot berrys that had been cooking on the stove, then leave for some time for the juces to soak into the bread and for it all to "gell" together,...... bit vague i know but havnt done it for a while!!!!
