what do you clean your windows with? (outside) What's the best thing to put in the water? I've bought a squeegee, but I just know they will be streaky! x
I have a window cleaner who cleans the outside of the windows. But for the inside I use those special window cleaning e-cloths. You just dampen one and wipe over the window then buff it off with the other cloth. They cost me 10 for the two but they are great - and no streaking!
The newspapers and vinegar are the best of all! If you have a window that steams up, or a mirror that constantly steams up, take some old fashioned shaving cream and place it on a cloth. Set it aside so it will dry out a bit, then rub the glass or mirror. Not only will it not streak, it will prevent the glass from fogging.
If you are using a squeegee. You want to add fairy liquid to water. Use a spinge rub it on the windows then squeegee off. It will not streak however may take a bit of practice.
E-cloths are brilliant (and that's coming from someone who doesn't go with advertising!) - just warm water applied with a clean J-cloth followed by wipe over with e-cloth and hey presto smear-free windows and no chemicals needed.
i used cold water and white vinegar and a squeegee - a combination of your answers really!
I didn't think it would work, but they are sparkling now!
When I do the inside, I think I'll try the cornflour.
Instead of newspaper - which I don't have - I'll use paper towels. I'll let you know how I go on.
thanks everyone x
