Hi - i'm a bit out of touch with the latest music & groups in the charts at mo. Want to kind of get back into it (dunno why, maybe so my kid thinks i'm cool??!!) it's years since i even tuned into a radio station - cant stand the ones that chatter on for hours - can anyone recommend a good station with the latest stuff please - TIA
meg it sounds as if you are not much of a music fan, if you don't mind me saying.
Radio 1likes to promote some of the more obscure stuff out now, which may put you off.
Why not sit down with the kids and channel hop the music shows on tv - at least the visuals may ease you gently back into music and you can chat about what you see and what you think.
Thanks folks - SUNFLOWER - I really am a music fan, i love it, just out of date - i think i've been listening to the same NOW album in the car for the last 3 yrs!! - I meant it though, i dont even know how to tune the radio in! don't you need the number/ wave for the channels - if so - do you know them. Sorry for those of you who dont suffer fools gladly - i must come across as really thick!
If you like a bit of old and a bit of new music, you can't beat BigL 1395 which is best accessed on satellite telly or thru www.bigl.co.uk It has great veteran DJs like Mike Read and Diddy David Hamilton and there are no restrictions on the playlist
BBC radio 6 is pretty good. They do lots of different music and have some live sessions too. I ove Jo Whiley on Rdio One and Zane Lowe, but I try my best to avoid any R&B which is almost impossible on Radio 1.
100.7 Heart FM is good................plays some older and some new stuff. I find any DJ banter quite amusing especially Ed James in the morning. Find Radio 1 a bit "out there" for me!
I agree with hau kola - kerrang's really good. XFM's pretty good as well (if you live near or in london). I personally don't like radio 1 (too much talk from djs that think they're funny...), although zane lowe's better than the others. Apart from them, why not listen to local radio stations? They play all the newest stuff...
