Well, I've not got personal knowledge of this, but a... er.. friend of mine... *cough* has read the odd bit of pornography in his time. My friend says that when they do reports on film shoots, the porn actressess normally have douches or enemas as appropriate before, but whether that's what gay men do, I dunno. Douche is french for shower, and is also a name for a sort of thin hosepipe with an end like a match head with small holes. The other end goes onto the warm tap and the spray end aids human hygiene.

As a matter of information there are many gay men who, like me, do not engage in anal sex. For a lot of people it is not a turn on, and there are plenty of exciting things to do that do not involve penetration.

hi, i am not a gay man, because im female, but i find that if you dont feel the need to empty your bowels beforehand, then there is no poo in your rectum, so no mess. there you go

it is unusual for faeces to be stored in the rectum unless immeadiately prior to a bowel movement, so this is not normally a problem for anal intercourse
