New step daughter is turning 19

I am in a new relationship, his daughter is turning 19 she lives with her grandparents I will be meeting her for the first time in person on her b-day. what in the world could I get when I dont really know her?

well her dad said her doesnt know he thought to get her something for an apartment. well she cant get an apartment till after the first of the year. I do know she probably doesnt want something she will have to put up for 4-6 months. He says auh, she likes anything.. well I doubt that. I think he is clueless as well.lol :)

Clothes vouchers.......somewhere like river Island or something...you cant go wrong...she can then pick what she wants....

get a really cool card.....some flowers and a next voucher....but dont be too flash with the size of it....25 quid is plenty.........cant fail

If you want to get vouchers,I would suggest Topshop as they have everything that age group loves

What about some gift vouchers, or perfume set something young, or beauty voucher to treat herself ie get her nails done

Don't think they have next/river island/top shop in the states - I think that they mean a voucher for a fashion store that young people would use. A voucher is a good idea, but maybe something for a department store so that she can choose either something for herself or her apartment in the future. i think it would be best to keep it simple that way she is not likely to hate it. You can always buy her something more personal when you get to know her better.

thank everyone for the great ideas.. I think I am going to incorporate most of them by getting a gift basket and put several of those ideas in them..thank you and wish me luck.. we will find out on Oct. 20th.
