The trouble with me is i tend to forget the punch line.. i get half way through the joke then can't finish it :( It gets a laugh though, it's just me they laugh at. :)
I like jokes and can usually tell them without tripping up. Problem is I can only remember them for about a day! I'm sure a lot of people suffer from joke amnesia like me.
I too am terrible at remembering them. If I hear a good one that I want to tell a relie next time we talk , I have to write it down , (sad I know ) , because it goes straight out of my head.:-(
best thing is to bombard them with a bunch of short jokes, long jokes can get boring..plus you will remember the joke better if its kept short n sweet...
nope, hopeless....I'm a terrible giggler so if I can manage to remember an entire joke in the right order I just fall about laughing & can't tell it anyway. :o)
The trick is first of all to memorise the punchline. The story can often be changed to suit your styleor locality or whatever. Sometimes you can tell it as if something happened to you eg "I went to the pub the other day and..." rather than "A man went into a pub...". Practice some of your favourites on your own and add your own bits. I sound as if I am good at it - I know I'm not but this is what I try to do. Listen to the the good joke telling comics and try and work out why they are good at it. Telling jokes is a serious business!
