Frogs in my house

Not sure where to put this one but here goes. Last night there were two very small frogs on my doorstep. When I opened the door one of them jumped away but the other came inside. Managed to get it out unharmed (the frog wasn't hurt either). One of my colleagues tells me he's sure there's a superstition around this. Any ABers out there ever heard of this. Thanks in advance.

Anyhooos.....It appears that frogs in your house is both bad and good luck depending on which old wives tale you read, sorry.

If you google frog in the house superstition, you will get 494,000 websites about this. Seems to be that it brings good luck, but other websites say bad luck!

Hi, Senga 2. You say there were two frogs; one entered the house and one didn't. Therefore, the one NOT entering the house nullified any effect that the one entering the house might have had:)

Thanks for all the answers. Next question is where did they come from. I live in town and no ponds or streams around and they were very small. Any thought all you amateur naturalists our there?

Maybe they were lost? Did they have a bicycle and a string of onions with them? I wonder what would have happened if you had kissed one?
On a serious note, they don't always need streams and ponds - you can find them in ditches.
