i want to copy my home movies from video to dvd, what is the best machine i can get?

Asuming you have a video player, any dvd recorder will do the job.

You simply connect the tv, video and dvd recorder and record the video channel on to dvd.

I would recommend a Panasonic DVD Recorder and connect it to your vcr.

I used to have a Bush vcr/dvd recorder combi and it was the biggest pile of **** I have ever owned. I swapped it for the Panasonic and have had no problems after making roughly 250 recordings.
