When you pour a pint of lime cordial and soda water (cordial in first) it needs stirring to mix the drink properly otherwise all the cordial stays at the bottom of the glass. When you use normal water it mixes without stirring.

Why is this...?

Thanks.

The density of the soda water is less than the density of the lime cordial, whereas water and lime cordial would be about the same density depending on the temperature.

Makes sense. Thanks.
But if you pour a glass of ordinary water and then add the cordial afterwards, you also need to stir it
