I think faith can be of a great comfort & interest to some people, & that's fine by me, but there are also people who're solely interested in a more scientific approach. my friend studied with the chappie who invented the MRI scan, so you can imagine the sort of intelligent discussions which we have in our house - some disputing the existence of a god at all, others admitting that there COULD be, or emphatically claiming that there IS. It's a personal opinion & I can see both sides of the coin. Our family is made up of a mixture of faiths, going back years. it's never been much of a problem as we respect each other's opinions, but instead of being labelled a catholic, protestant or whatever, I believe that my children have the right to choose for themselves when they're old enough to make an educated decision. Of COURSE a baptism wouldn't prevent them from having their own ideas, but those who're baptized into a particular faith tend to believe or follow what they're told, and stay with it. Can you see my point?
