in addition to the measure mentioned in this article i also think that all medical staff should not be wearing their uniforms outside the hospital building.how many of you see nurses in uniform in the supermarket, picking up kids from school etc in their uniforms?shouldnt the hospitals be making them change there?how many uniforms do nurses get, one for each shift a week or do they wear them twice before washing them?not having a go, just concerned that more could be done to stop these super bugs.

Mrs.Mighty has worn hers many times outside of work hours, and she works for The Body Shop.
As for the serious nature of your question,I think all there clothing should be disposable to lessen the risk of spreading infections.

With some females it is some kind of status symbol. I mean " Look everybody I am in the Medical profession" this can include all, whether they are Nurses, Care Workers, Dental Assistants or even Doctors Receptionists.
It is not only Females though, when it comes to airing their self opinionated importance. How many workers does one see outside their places of employment, ie supermarket and such, with their ID badges swinging round their necks? Take them off and put them in your pocket or hand-bag, you are not impressing anyone.

I absolutely hate when people keep their name badges on. I spend half the day trying to avoid wearing mine let alone having to be noticed outside of work!
Junior Doctors are terrible, they all walk in to the club with their stethapscopes (sp) hanging around their neck and/or their white coats on. Just so they can scream 'look at me, I'm a doctor, I heal the sick and I'm very important.' I take every opportunity to laugh at them when they do this. Having to scream your status shows just how little you have usually.

I'm glad you asked this question Erica.
A neighbour, a couple doors away, is a Nurse & after leaving the hospital, she always wears her uniform to go shopping & to pick her children up from school.
She also has a very large dog which greets her at the door, jumping up & putting its paws all over her uniform. (Not the dog's fault of course).
She's also been seen going out into the garden, again with her uniform on, clearing up the dog's mess!
She also leaves her house to go to work in her nurses uniform.
Surely this can't be right!
BTW, I'm not a curtain twitcher (don't have any nets to twitch), but her immediate neighbour has mentioned these things to all & sundry, although I've seen her out shopping myself in full regalia.

They shouldn't be allowed to, but they do. Years ago nurses changed when they arrived at work and left their uniforms to be laundered in the hospital laundry, don't think there's such a facility now. When my grandson was tiny, I looked after him for 2 nights a week while my daughter went to work as a nurse, she used to arrive home in the morning and refuse to pick him up until she had taken her uniform off and showered. Of course I appreciated that she looked out for my grandson so well, but I did used to think of her fellow passengers on the bus on the way home if she was so covered in unmentionable substances!
