Doubling it is hardly much better, is it?

what the hell?
4 years for that? They'll serve 2, get out, be poorly monitored, then re-offend, and there'll be some kind of 'inquiry'.
How is this 'justice'?

I don't think the argument that they said they were 16 or whatever counts. People working in retail have to use their judgement when it comes to selling fags or alcohol to underagers even if they thought that person was 16 or whatever they are still prosecuted for selling to underagers. I don't think the sentence was adequate, it was obviously an excuse they made to get out of it a 10 year & a 12 year old look that no matter how much make up they wear. It was just a pathetic attempt to avoid responsability.
its not justice its disgusting.
we're constantly reading about people who commit serious crimes and are more or less getting away with it getting small sentences, judges need some common sense
have you ever been to the pictures or watched a dvd and at the beginning it tells us about piracy and how you can be fined s***loads of money and could possibly end up in jail? they put more of a price on money than they do on a life thats been probably ruined these days. its pathetic
