Cat scratching trim on doors

A while back I had a cat that scratched up the trim on my doors. I tried to sand them down, but was useless. So like a dumb dumb I decided to put wall putty on the scratches, waited for it to dry and then tried to stain the trim back to normal. I obviously did not work and my trim looks like crap. Can anybody help me?

We use a harmless spray called 'Scratch No More For Cats' made by Chatelaine in La Tourette. Tel: o4 77 50 58 00. I think we purchased it from our Kleeneze man. It definitely works!

This won't solve your current problem, of course, but it may prevent it happening again. good luck.
